Academic learning and sports education complement each other. They resemble the two sides of the same coin. If the sports education is carried out in accordance with the academic curriculum, the over-all personality of the student is increased to a greater extent. Keeping this in mind, Sanjivani International School provides a wide array of extracurricular activities to the students. Students learn about time management, team work and prioritizing things in their life. It allows students to get involved and explore diverse interests that they may have. Students learn about long term commitments when they are involved in extracurricular activities. It helps to raise the self- esteem of students as it providesthem with an opportunity to shine, giving their self -esteem a boost.


At Sanjivani, we are fully equipped with sports gear and materials and have trained personals providing coaching to the students. Children participate in various School, Interschool, State and National level competitions and make us proud. Various extra- curricular activities provided by Sanjivani International School are listed below.

CARROM

Carrom is identified as a Sport where discipline and behavior are developed rapidly. It also strengthens the thinking power of players and teaches how to make quick decisions at suitable times. The foot movements also play an important role in this sport.

CHESS

"We have introduced Chess in our school because we believe it directly contributes to academic performance. Chess enhances focus and concentration. The game helps to identify alternatives and considers the pros and cons of various actions. They learn to juggle multiple considerations simultaneously and try to weigh various factors before making a decision. " .

GYMNASTICS

Reported benefits in gymnastics in school curricula are: enhanced development of most of the fundamental motor patterns, enhanced flexibility, enhanced strength and postural control, enhanced balance, enhanced anaerobic endurance, long-term bone forming and strengthening advantages, potential for enhanced academic readiness and cognitive abilities, enhanced task-mastery orientations, and enhanced skill focus and skill goal setting abilities. One of the major benefits of gymnastics activity is that the gymnast's body experiences a wide variety of shapes, movement patterns, spatial changes and loadings (muscular and non-muscular) – all providing engaging and beneficial kinesthetic stimuli.

TABLE TENNIS

Students will benefit from learning the basic motor skills, also the physical fitness is incorporated as it is played through the extensive use of hand/eye co-ordination exercises, which can be games in their own right. This establishes a solid foundation for future skill development and body control.

FOOTBALL

Football provides overall physical exercise, motor skills development, analysis, control and coordination. It helps in developing team spirit and competition in the students. At Sanjivani, we have Junior and Senior teams, which play for the school at Local, Inter-school, State and National level.

BASKETBALL

"Basketball provides students a learning experience to build endurance and strength. It displays agility,coordination, balance, healthy team spirit and discipline. "

ATHLETICS

Athletics encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. It increases self-esteem and mental alertness. It provides flexibility, over all body fitness with control and coordination.

ARCHERY

Archery originated as a self-defense skill. At Sanjivani, we train students in Archery as it is a goal oriented sport and enhances listening, observation, self-evaluation & cooperation skills.

SKATING

Skating helps children develop self-confidence and a sense of balance. It gives our students a physical workout without them even realizing it. It builds social skills and stamina.

TAE KWON DO

Taekwondo is an amazing martial art which provides a variety of useful skills. It addresses a physical aspect as well as a mental aspect. The physical aspect of taekwondo strengthens the body, improves their endurance and helps them with their coordination skills. On a mental level the child learns to concentrate and focus.Taekwondo instills respect, discipline, self-control, perseverance and an indomitable spirit with regards to schoolwork, attitude and teachers.

HANDBALL

Handball is the oldest game played with a ball.It enhances striking skills, eye-hand coordination, locomotor skills and manipulative skills. Handball offers opportunities to develop these components, while incorporating fitness as well.

HOCKEY

Hockey is our national game. It is more than just a game for our entertainment; it is a catalyst to help teach us the right values in life in order to be a successful person. Other than the obvious health benefits of getting physical activity, participants improve coordination, strength, flexibility, reflexes and agility. Even more important, are the life skills that hockey players learn from a young age and carry on well past their hockey playing careers. Players learn to work as a team towards a common goal, develop strong communication and listening skills and respect for authority and rules.

EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS

At Sanjivani International School, we provide a wide exposure of educational trips. It provides valuable educational opportunities away from the classroom, without using textbooks and other tools generally used in a normal school setting. Students on educational trips learn while having fun in a more informal environment. Educational trips often cater to more than one learning style, making them excellent teaching tools for certain students.
